METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conduc...BACKGROUND: The feasibility and clinical outcome predictors of mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for strokes caused by distal arterial occlusion (DAO) remain the subject of debate. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted of patients with consecutive acute ischemic stroke treated using MT. Clinical and procedural-associated factors were studied to compare the efficacy, safety, and short-term and long-term outcomes of MT between the proximal arterial occlusion (PAO) and DAO groups. The predictors of a good functional outcome in the DAO group were also identified. RESULTS: A total of 116 patients were included in this study, of whom 23 (19.8%) underwent MT for DAO. A higher complete recanalization rate was independently associated with PAO in adjusted models [adjusted odds ratio, 0.596; 95% CI, 0.377-0.941]. The measures of safety and clinical outcome showed no significant differences between the DAO and PAO groups. The National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) score on admission, hybrid technique use, and complete recanalization rate emerged as independent predictors of a good functional outcome in the DAO group. CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy, safety, and short-term and long-term outcomes of DAO thrombectomy were similar to those of PAO thrombectomy. The good functional outcome predictors of MT in DAO included NIHSS on admission, hybrid technique use, and complete recanalization. Overall, the findings lead us to propose that MT may be considered a feasible option for treating DAO after a careful risk-benefit analysis.

However, the safety and prognosis of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) and vitamin K antagonists (VKA) have not been compared with those of MT.This meta-analysis aimed at determining the efficacy of DOACs or VKA for patients after MT. REVIEW SUMMARY: We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science databases, and Cochrane from their inception to Aug 2022. Revman 5.3 served for the meta-analysis. The meta-analysis included 12 studies that covered 3571 patients, finding that after MT treatment, DOACs significantly decreased the symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage [odd ratio (OR)=0.49, 95% CI 0.30-0.80, P =0.004] and mortality (OR=0.63, 95% CI 0.48-0.83, P =0.001) compared with VKA. Meanwhile, no obvious differences were found between DOACs and VKA after MT treatment in terms of in any hemorrhagic transformation (OR=1.07, 95% CI 0.84-1.37, P =0.59), good functional outcome (OR=1.06, 95% CI 0.88-1.27, P =0.53), and successful arterial recanalization (OR=1.24, 95% CI 1.00-1.53, P =0.05). CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis demonstrates that the application of DOACs in MT treatment for anticoagulated patients with acute ischemic stroke is safer than that in the VKA group. However, further studies are necessary to confirm these results.

METHODS: The ob...OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to critically assess current evidence regarding the role of prophylactic antiseizure medication in patients presenting with acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). METHODS: The objective was addressed through the development of a structured critically appraised topic. This included a clinical scenario with a clinical question, literature search strategy, critical appraisal, results, evidence summary, commentary, and bottom-line conclusions. Participants included resident neurologists, a medical librarian, and content experts in the fields of epilepsy, stroke neurology, neurohospitalist medicine, and neurocritical care. RESULTS: A randomized clinical trial was selected for critical appraisal. The trial assessed whether prophylactic levetiracetam (LEV) use reduced the risk of acute seizures in patients with ICH, as defined by clinical or electrographic seizure, captured by continuous electroencephalogram 72 hours after enrollment. A total of 42 patients were included in the final analysis (19 in the LEV group and 23 in the placebo group). There was a significantly higher occurrence of seizures in the placebo versus LEV group (LEV 16% vs placebo 43%, P = 0.043). There were no differences in functional outcomes between the groups at 3, 6, or 12 months (P > 0.1). CONCLUSIONS: The role of prophylactic treatment with antiseizure medication in ICH remains unclear.

Though rare,...INTRODUCTION: The differential diagnosis of a spinal intradural extramedullary mass lesion is broad and includes meningioma, schwannoma, neurofibroma, leptomeningeal metastasis, and myxopapillary ependymoma. Though rare, lymphoma should be included in the differential diagnosis of a dural mass lesion. CASE REPORT: A 38-year-old man presented with back pain that progressed over 1 month with associated focal tenderness over his mid to lower thoracic spine. He developed intermittent numbness of the bilateral lower extremities, nuchal rigidity, difficulty sleeping, and night sweats. A magnetic resonance imaging of the thoracic spine demonstrated a dorsal intradural extramedullary enhancing lesion from T7 to T10 extending outside the spinal canal. Dural thickening across the entire circumference of the spinal cord was noted. Computed tomography (CT)-guided biopsy of the thoracic lesion was performed, and pathology was consistent with follicular lymphoma. Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography:CT demonstrated no systemic disease. Bone marrow biopsy was negative for malignancy. Symptoms resolved with dexamethasone therapy. He was treated with bendamustine and rituximab with follow-up positron emission tomography:CT 2 months later demonstrating a complete response. CONCLUSIONS: Lymphoma can rarely present as an isolated dural lesion and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of intradural extramedullary spinal mass lesions. Prompt diagnosis and initiation of treatment can lead to complete response and resolution of symptoms.
INTRODUCTION: Arterial thoracic outlet syndrome (aTOS) is the least common among the 3 subtypes of thoracic outlet syndrome and can be the cause of posterior circulation infarction due to thrombus from a secondary thromb...INTRODUCTION: Arterial thoracic outlet syndrome (aTOS) is the least common among the 3 subtypes of thoracic outlet syndrome and can be the cause of posterior circulation infarction due to thrombus from a secondary thrombosed subclavian-axillary artery aneurysm. CASE REPORT: Here, we report a case of a 51-year-old man who presented to our institute with sudden onset vertigo, dizziness, vomiting, gait imbalance, and visual field defects immediately after strenuous exercise. Computed tomography angiography revealed bilateral cervical ribs with aneurysmal dilatation of the left distal subclavian and proximal axillary arteries. The computed tomography also revealed subacute infarcts in the bilateral cerebellar hemispheres, as well as in the bilateral occipital lobes. Color Doppler evaluation of the subclavian artery after hyperabduction of the ipsilateral arm revealed a continuous reversal of flow in the subclavian artery, which reached the vertebral ostia. The left cervical rib was resected, aneurysm was repaired, and the patient remained asymptomatic on follow-up. CONCLUSION: Posterior circulation stroke caused by the ipsilateral thrombosed subclavian artery aneurysm in an adult patient with aTOS due to a complete cervical rib is rare. A high index of suspicion should be present for thoracic outlet syndrome in patients with stroke and upper-limb arterial claudication symptoms. Dynamic Doppler evaluation in such patients can be used to demonstrate the underlying pathomechanism, and definitive surgical treatment can prevent further ischemic episodes. Posterior circulation stroke caused by partially thrombosed distal subclavian and axillary artery aneurysms due to aTOS is rare.

Elevated serum uric acid resulting in uric acid nephropathy is an overlooked cause of acute kidney injury in these patients, with only a few published case reports. CASE REPORT: In the first case, a 23-year-old male was admitted with status epilepticus. His kidney function worsened and he developed anuria. He had a serum uric acid level of 20.7 mg/dL and required multiple sessions of hemodialysis. In the second case, a 32-year-old male was admitted with acute kidney injury after experiencing a breakthrough seizure. He had a serum uric acid level of 20.4 mg/dL and was treated with rasburicase with recovery of renal function. In the third case, a 29-year-old male was admitted with status epilepticus. His renal function deteriorated. His serum uric acid level was 19.5 mg/dL. He required hemodialysis and rasburicase. CONCLUSION: Uric acid nephropathy is a rare complication of generalized tonic-clonic seizures, which is poorly recognized by healthcare providers. We advocate for Nephrology consultation early in a patient's hospitalization to discuss the use of rasburicase to avoid the associated morbidity of renal replacement therapies.

We report the clinical presentations, biological,...INTRODUCTION: Nitrous oxide (NO) abuse is increasing among young people. This can result in severe neurological disorders such as myelopathy and/or peripheral neuropathy. We report the clinical presentations, biological, radiologic and electrophysiological findings of 5 patients hospitalized with neurological symptoms consecutive to NO abuse. In addition, a literature review was conducted to describe the neurological characteristics and to identify factors associated with a poor recovery. CASE REPORT: Among the 5 patients included, 2 had a myeloneuropathy, 2 had a sensorimotor neuropathy, and 1 had a normal spinal cord magnetic resonance imaging and electromyography despite neurological manifestations consistent with myeloneuropathy. After vitamin B 12 supplementation, recovery was reported in 4 patients, and 1 was lost to follow-up.From the literature review, 154 patients were included [94 males; median age 22 (19 to 26) y; NO exposure 9 (3 to 18) mo]. A myelopathy was identified in 116 patients (75%) and a peripheral neuropathy was documented in 89 patients (58%). Compared with patients who recovered, those with sequelae were more likely to have a motor deficit at presentation ( P <0.001), to use NO regularly ( P <0.001), to have a lower vitamin B 12 level ( P =0.04), and a higher concentration of homocysteine ( P =0.04). A less extensive myelopathy was more frequently found in the group with favorable outcomes ( P =0.002). CONCLUSION: Neurological disorders caused by NO may be challenging with severe clinical patterns. We identified several factors associated with a poor recovery, to make clinicians aware of NO-induced neurotoxicity.

This study determined the prevalence of frailty and its impact...OBJECTIVES: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is any spinal cord injury or affliction that results in temporary or permanent impairment of motor or sensory function. This study determined the prevalence of frailty and its impact on in-hospital outcomes of patients admitted with acute traumatic SCI (TSCI). METHODS: This retrospective study extracted data of adults 18 to 85 years with acute TSCI from the US Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) 2016 to 2018. Frailty status were assessed by the 11-factor modified Frailty Index (mFI-11) through claim codes. Patients with an mFI ≥3 were classified as frail. Associations between study variables and in-hospital mortality, discharge status, prolonged length of stay, severe infection, and hospital costs were determined by univariate and multivariable regression analyses. RESULTS: A total of 52,263 TSCI patients were identified, where 12,203 (23.3%) patients were frail. After adjusting for relevant confounders, frailty was independently associated with increased risk for in-hospital mortality [adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 1.25, 95% CI:1.04-1.49], unfavorable discharge (aOR =1.15, 95% CI: 1.09-1.22), prolonged length of stay (aOR =1.32, 95% CI: 1.24-1.40), and severe infection (aOR =2.52, 95% CI: 2.24-2.83), but not hospital cost. Stratified analyses revealed frailty was associated with higher unfavorable discharge and severe infection regardless of age, Charlson Comorbidity Index, and injury level. CONCLUSIONS: In acute TSCI, frailty is independently associated with increased risk for adverse inpatient outcomes in terms of in-hospital mortality, prolonged hospital stays, unfavorable discharge, and particularly severe infection.

There is inconsistency in the literature regarding clinical approach to these lesions to reduce stroke risk. We aimed to describe clinical presentation, neuroimaging and cardioimaging features, as well as management approaches for CN and EV in stroke context. REVIEW SUMMARY: A systemic search was carried out using PubMed and Web of Science following PRISMA guidelines, Supplemental Digital Content 1 ( http://links.lww.com/NRL/A123 ). We retrieved 4 case-control studies, 2 cross sectional studies as well 8 case reports, with a total of 883 patients with a mean age of 44.6 years (±13.8). The combined prevalence of EV/CN in stroke-related patent foramen ovale (PFO) patients was 50% (95% CI: 31-68). With isolated prevalence for EV and CN of 43% (95% CI: 25-63), 18% (95% CI: 12-25), respectively. Patients with history of stroke had higher prevalence of EV/CN compared with controls odds ratio=2.45 (95% CI: 1.2-5, P <0.01). All case-control and cross-sectional studies defined EV/CN by transesophageal echocardiography or intracardiac cardiography. In the 8 case reports, 7 cases were diagnosed by transesophageal echocardiography, while only 1 case was diagnosed postmortem. CONCLUSION: EV/CN are relatively common findings in stroke patients with PFO. While it appears that presence of EV/CN with a PFO increases the risk of cardioembolic stroke, they remain underrecognized. EV/CN should be considered as high-risk PFO features. There is a scarcity of research emphasizing their role in clinical decision making, especially PFO closure and antithrombotic therapy choice.

The magnetic resonance (MR) imaging described with POWV encephalitis is varied, nonspecific, and limited in number, and as such, imaging patterns and outcomes with this arbovirus infection are not well appreciated. METHODS: A case report and literature review of the MR imaging associated with POWV encephalitis and correlate of the MR pattern with outcome is considered. RESULTS: The cerebellar dominant MR imaging pattern was identified in 50% of POWV encephalitis cases and was associated with a 60% fatality rate. POWV encephalitis with prominent cerebellar involvement on MR imaging responded to intravenous steroid. CONCLUSIONS: A cerebellar dominant MR pattern in POWV encephalitis was common, associated with a poor prognosis, and recognition could change management from supportive to life-saving.

Propensity score matching (PSM) is a statistical method in SPSS, which can be used to balance the difference between the 2 groups of known factors. Nasogastric tube feeding is an important factor of stroke-associated pneumonia. However, few studies have used PSM to eliminate the effect of confounding factor. METHODS: Our research was a retrospective case-control study. Retrospective review of the patient database between December 1, 2019, and June 30, 2022, to identify consecutive dysphagia patients after cerebral infarction during hospitalization. An 1:1 PSM in SPSS 25.0 was used to balance nasogastric tube feeding between patients with and without pneumonia. The characteristics of these 2 groups were analyzed. Univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were used to screen the risk factors of dysphagia after cerebral infarction. RESULTS: After 1:1 PSM, 198 subjects met our criteria and were included in the analysis. Age [odds ratio (OR)=1.047, 95% CI: 1.013-1.081, P =0.006], stroke phase (acute stroke) (OR=5.931, 95% CI: 1.133-31.054, P =0.035), admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score (OR=1.058, 95% CI: 1.004-1.115, P =0.034), and length of hospital stay (OR=1.025, 95% CI: 1.001-1.049, P =0.042) had statistically significant correlation with pneumonia in patients with dysphagia after cerebral infarction. CONCLUSION: In clinical practice, for the prevention of pneumonia in patients with dysphagia after cerebral infarction, we should pay more attention to admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score, age, and stroke phase, especially in acute cerebral infarction patients.

Although psychiatric prodromes are common in C9orf72 expansi...INTRODUCTION: C9orf72 expansion is the most common genetic abnormality in behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Although psychiatric prodromes are common in C9orf72 expansion carriers, there are only scattered reported cases of primary psychiatric disorders, such as bipolar disorder, diagnosed at disease onset. Moreover, C9orf72 carrier status is rarely identified in bipolar disorder genetic studies. CASE REPORT: A 51-year-old, right-handed woman with 16 years of education presented for evaluation of long-standing cognitive and behavioral change. She initially displayed symptoms of mania and florid, multimodal psychotic symptoms at age 39. Her bipolar disorder symptoms were initially responsive to medication; however, she later developed executive dysfunction and behavioral symptoms consistent with bvFTD. She became progressively nonverbal, and her limited speech was notable for speech apraxia. At the time of presentation, she demonstrated cortical sensory deficit, ideomotor and oral-buccal apraxia, and unstable gait. Neuroimaging revealed diffuse brain atrophy. Postmortem histopathological evaluation revealed frontotemporal lobar degeneration with TDP-43 inclusions, type B, and genetic study identified C9orf72 expansion. A detailed review of family history found a strong paternal history of bipolar disorder and substance use disorder. CONCLUSIONS: We describe a rare case of C9orf72 expansion initially characterized by late-onset bipolar disorder and florid, multimodal psychotic symptoms, followed years later by bvFTD diagnosis. This report emphasizes the importance of completing a neurological examination, obtaining a detailed family history, and pursuing genetic screening to distinguish between primary psychiatric disorder and bvFTD in individuals who meet the criteria for late-onset bipolar disorder.

Today, lumbar puncture (LP) is the most common method used for diagnosis by measuring cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure to reflect intracranial pressure. This invasive examination has significant disadvantages, such as complications and negative experiences for patients. Therefore, noninvasive methods for ICP measurement are desired. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is widely used for the diagnosis and follow-up of IIH patients as it reflects papilledema. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between CSF pressure and OCT parameters and the ability of OCT in the diagnostic approach. METHODS: In our study, patients who were followed up with a diagnosis of IIH with complete neuro-ophthalmological examinations, including visual acuity (VA), visual field, and OCT imaging within 24 hours before lumbar puncture, were retrospectively evaluated. CSF pressure, visual acuity LogMAR, mean deviation of visual fields, retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness measured by OCT, and treatment protocols were obtained from our hospital data system. RESULTS: A total of 42 eyes of 21 patients were enrolled in the study. A statistically significant positive and moderate correlation was found between CSF pressure values and average RNFL thickness ( r =0.507; P =0.001). The same relationship was demonstrated in all 4 quadrants: inferior, superior, nasal, and temporal. CONCLUSIONS: Increased peripapillary RNFL thickness in optic nerve head OCT may be correlated with increased ICP in IIH patients. A larger number of patients are needed to better understand the correlation between OCT parameters and CSF pressure in patients with IIH.

Tenecteplase has been suggested to reduce door-to-needle time and to increase the rate of spontaneous recanalization. In February 2021, Mayo Clinic Health System switched to Tenecteplase as the standard thrombolytic therapy for acute ischemic stroke. METHODS: In this center-based observational cohort study, we present clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with acute ischemic stroke treated with tenecteplase between February 2021 and May 2022 compared with alteplase treatment between September 2019 and February 2021. We used descriptive and comparative statistics. RESULTS: Baseline characteristics were comparable between the groups. The incidence of symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage was significantly less among the tenecteplase group (0.65% vs. 5%, P =0.027). Both groups had a similar door-to-needle time [55 (IQR 30.5) vs. 57 (IQR 38) in the tissue plasminogen activator group, P =0.395]. Spontaneous partial or complete recanalization was more commonly observed in the tenecteplase group (10.4% vs. 1.4%, P =0.038). Mechanical thrombectomy for large vessel occlusion was deferred due to marked clinical improvement more commonly in tenecteplase (6.3% vs. 1.4%); however, this difference was not statistically significant. Ninety-day modified Rankin Scale did not show a significant difference between the groups. CONCLUSION: Tenecteplase use as the thrombolytic agent in acute ischemic stroke was associated with lower rates of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage, higher rates of spontaneous recanalization, but similar door-to-needle time and 90-day modified Rankin Scale as compared with tissue plasminogen activator.

REVIEW SUMMARY: Relevant reports in Medline's (PubMed) database were identified and assessed by 2 reviewers without language restriction from 1985 to 2022. A total of 82 reports containing 161 cases that developed limb-shaking TIA were reported. The mean and median age were 61.36 (SD: 15.29) and 62 years (range: 4-93 y). Most of the individuals affected were males (64.34%). Limb-shaking was reported as unilateral in 83.33% of the patients. Limb-shaking presented with other neurological deficits in 44.33% of the individuals, in which the most common concurrent neurological deficit was the weakness of at least 1 limb. A recurrence of the "shaking" phenomenon was observed in 83 individuals. A trigger of limb-shaking was reported in 69 cases, and the most common was changing body position. The internal carotid artery was the most frequent vessel involved in limb-shaking. A chronically occluded internal carotid artery was observed in 42 individuals. Hypertension was the most common comorbidity. The management was conservative in 42.30% of the cases. The most frequent misdiagnoses were seizures. A full recovery was achieved in 56.60% of the individuals. CONCLUSIONS: Limb-shaking TIA could be defined as involuntary, rhythmic, brief (<5 min), recurrent, jerky movement usually precipitated by activities that may reduce cerebral blood flow. The "shaking" phenomenon was primarily described as a manifestation of symptomatic complete internal carotid artery obstruction.

A variety of neurological and psychiatric symptoms may be caused by nervous system involvement, termed neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus. CASE REPORT: We describe a young man newly diagnosed with SLE who had a stroke as an initial symptom and was found to have cerebral large-vessel vasculitis and Fahr syndrome. CONCLUSIONS: The novelties of this report are the extensive cerebral calcification demonstrated on head computerized tomography in a patient with SLE, and the depiction of an underlying vasculitis on high-resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging. It is our aim to describe this atypical form of neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus onset and to make known the usefulness of the new magnetic resonance imaging techniques for the diagnosis of cerebral large-vessel vasculitis.

METHODS: Data of stroke patients pres...BACKGROUND: The safety and efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) in acute ischemic stroke patients with large vessel occlusions and mild neurological deficits are controversial. METHODS: Data of stroke patients presenting with mild initial stroke, which was defined as the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score (NIHSS) ≤5 and large vessel occlusion, were extracted from a large provincewide stroke registry. RESULTS: A total of 619 IVT and 2170 non-IVT patients were identified in this study. IVT patients had higher rates of favorable functional outcome Modified Rankin Scale(mRS) ≤1 (74.6% vs. 70.6%; P =0.047), lower mRS scores (1 vs. 1, P =0.001), and higher NIHSS score decreased (1 vs. 0, P <0.001) at discharge compared with the non-IVT patients. The rates were similar in symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (2.1% vs. 2.0%, P =0.853), severe systemic bleeding (0.8% vs. 0.6%, P =0.474), and mortality at discharge (0.2% vs. 0.2%, P =0.906) between the 2 groups. A multiple Logistic regression model found that age above 80 years [adjusted OR (aOR) 2.056 (95% CI, 1.125 to 3.756)], history of stroke [aOR 1.577 (95% CI, 1.303 to 1.910)], hyperlipidemia [aOR 2.156 (95% CI, 1.059 to 4.388)], high admission NIHSS score [aOR 1.564 (95% CI, 1.473 to 1.611)], and non-IVT [aOR 1.667 (95% CI, 1.337 to 2.077)] were independent risk factors for mRS >1. CONCLUSIONS: IVT administration is safe and effective in eligible acute ischemic stroke patients. Age above 80 years, with a history of stroke and hyperlipidemia, high admission NIHSS score, and non-IVT were independent risk factors for mRS >1 at discharge in these patients.

CONCLUSIONS: Examination of the tongue should be an integral part of the clinical examination of the cranial nerves. This study aimed to demonstrate the importance of tongue motor and non-motor functions in neurological practice.

REVIEW SUMMARY: To discuss the elements of clinical examination of the tongue in relation to neurological disorders. After reviewing the different superficial lesions of the tongue, we deal with various movement disorders of the tongue (fasciculations/myokimia, orolingual tremor, choreic movements of the tongue, dystonia of the tongue, lingual myoclonus, and psychogenic movements), disorders of taste and lingual sensitivity and lingual pain. CONCLUSIONS: Examination of the tongue should not be limited to studying its motility and trophicity. It is equally important to check the sensory function and understand how to interpret abnormal movements involving the tongue. This study also aimed to demonstrate the importance of nonmotor tongue function in neurological practice.

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to develop and validate a predictive model for the risk of poor neurological status in in-hospital patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) after intravenous thrombolysis. MET...OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to develop and validate a predictive model for the risk of poor neurological status in in-hospital patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) after intravenous thrombolysis. METHODS: This 2-center retrospective study included patients with AIS treated at the Advanced Stroke Center of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University and Baoding No.1 Central Hospital between January 2018 and January 2020). The neurological function status at day 7 of AIS onset was used as the endpoint of the study, which was evaluated using the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score. RESULTS: A total of 878 patients were included in the study and divided into training (n=652) and validation (n=226) sets. Seven variables were selected as predictors to establish the risk model: age, NIHSS before thrombolysis (NIHSS1), NIHSS 24 hours after thrombolysis (NIHSS3), high-density lipoprotein, antiplatelet, cerebral computed tomography after thrombolysis (CT2), and lower extremity venous color Doppler ultrasound. The risk prediction model achieved good discrimination (the areas under the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve in the training and validation sets were 0.9626 and 0.9413, respectively) and calibration (in the training set Emax=0.072, Eavg=0.01, P =0.528, and in the validation set Emax=0.123, Eavg=0.019, P =0.594, respectively). The decision curve analysis showed that the model could achieve a good net benefit. CONCLUSIONS: The prediction model obtained in this study showed good discrimination, calibration, and clinical efficacy. This new nomogram can provide a reference for predicting the risk of poor neurological status in patients with acute ischemic stroke after intravenous thrombolysis.
