OBJECTIVE: to investigate the utilization of the Health Care System by women of reproductive age for intrauterine device insertion and to analyze possible inequalities according to sociodemographic characteristics. METHOD: cross-sectional study, nested in a prospective cohort, with a random sample of 515 women ≥18 years old, conducted by obstetric nurses at a referral service for intrauterine device insertion. A structured face-to-face questionnaire was applied to obtain information on the use of the healthcare system for intrauterine device insertion. The analysis was based on the Behavioral Model of Health Service Use. Logistic regression and multinomial regression were used to estimate the Odds Ratio of the health care system use according to predisposing factors, race/color, and parity, and facilitating factor, education. RESULTS: most women are aware of and utilize the system's health services, especially those with lower levels of education and multiparous women. However, the use of these services to access the intrauterine device is lower, with low access to guidance on reproductive planning and the insertion of the intrauterine device in the services, even lower among those with less education and nulliparous women. CONCLUSION: the lower chance of using the health care system to access the intrauterine device among women with less education and nulliparous women reveals social inequalities in access to contraception.

OBJECTIVE: to analyze the clinical-epidemiological profile of pediatric patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support at a referral center. METHOD: this was a cross-sectional, retrospective study based on the analysis of 108 electronic and physical medical records of pediatric patients from a public hospital. Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected using an instrument developed for this study. For the analysis, absolute and percentage frequencies, measures of central tendency and dispersion, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Pearson's chi-square test, logistic regression model with Stepwise input, multiple linear regression analysis, and Durbin-Watson test were used. RESULTS: of the documents analyzed, 55.5% belonged to female patients. Regarding clinical outcomes, 76.1% were awaiting surgery before cannulation, 69.3% used vasoactive drugs, and 57.4% died. Central venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation was the most used modality. The main indication for support was low cardiac output syndrome. Patients who developed mechanical complications during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation had a statistically higher risk of death (odds ratio of 2.8). CONCLUSION: mechanical complications were associated with an increased risk of mortality. The clinical-epidemiological profile highlights clinical severity, characterized by hemodynamic instability and surgical indication.

METHOD: quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional study. Non-probabilistic sample of 195 elderly people, who answered a questionnaire for Infodemic, Perceived Stress Scale, Yesavage Geriatric Depression Scale, and Generalized Anxiety Scale through a telephone and/or online self-administered survey. Before you accept informed consent, descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The Ethics Committee approved the study. RESULTS: the average age was 69 ± 6.2 years, and 58% were women. The average number of daily hours devoted to information was 5 ± 2.5, higher among men, with no significant differences between the sexes. Hours of infodemic were inversely related to mental health status, and the more hours of infodemic, the lower the level of stress, depression, and anxiety. CONCLUSION: the infodemic does not necessarily hurt the mental health of the elderly. From a nursing perspective, it is essential to strengthen critical thinking, promote digital literacy, and support networks and safe spaces that enhance autonomy and confront disinformation.

OBJECTIVE: to assess riverside women's knowledge about syphilis before and after a booklet educational intervention. METHOD: a quasi-experimental, comparative study with a before-and-after design was conducted with 40 riverside women through a discussion group with shared reading of the booklet. The nonparametric Wilcoxon test was used for data analysis. RESULTS: most women were between 18 and 29 years old, married or in a stable relationship, and had completed elementary school. Most had heard about syphilis from health professionals. They had been tested for syphilis and had previously undergone syphilis treatment. Comparing the pre-test and immediate post-test scores, an increase in knowledge about syphilis was observed. When analyzing the immediate post-test phase with the 7-day post-test, there was no significant difference; that is, the knowledge acquired remained the same after 7 days of the educational intervention. When analyzing the pre-test phase and the 7-day post-test phase, an improvement in knowledge was observed. CONCLUSION: the educational intervention through a booklet discussion circle with shared reading proved effective in acquiring knowledge about syphilis among riverside women, evidenced by the significant improvement in knowledge in the post-test results.

METHOD: a scoping review guided by the JBI. Eighteen sources of information were included, and original articles and gray literature published without restrictions concerning year or language were considered. After removing duplicates, the selection was conducted by two blind and independent reviewers. Data were extracted based on a script and presented in flowchart and table formats. RESULTS: the 12 studies selected in this review showed that the characteristics of Anthroposophy-enhanced nursing care are related to the knowledge and skills for applying compresses, baths, foot baths, rhythmical Einreibung, pentagram body Einreibung, poultices, and medication administration in different healthcare settings, for acute or chronic conditions. CONCLUSION: Anthroposophy-enhanced nursing care in healthcare services is a promising specialty in the global scenario of integrative and complementary practices. In this sense, future studies are needed to validate it and to enhance the curative aspects of care. Register: https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/NV6D5.

OBJECTIVE: to map the literature on extraction, analysis, and presentation of results in scoping reviews in Brazilian nursing. METHOD: scoping review according to the Joanna Briggs Institute guidelines, including publications, in the following sources: PubMed, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, CINAHL, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Google Scholar. The search was structured in three stages and conducted by two independent reviewers. RESULTS: one hundred and forty-three studies were included; the annual number increased from one (2013) to 41 (2023). In the title, 90.2% stated "scoping review"; 74.1% followed the JBI framework, but only 60.8% cited PRISMA-ScR, and 39.2% registered a protocol. Extraction remained largely manual: 82.5% used adapted JBI forms, and only 11.9% used support software. Descriptive summaries and thematic categorization predominated. Presentation favored charts and tables (96%). CONCLUSION: Nursing scoping reviews in Brazil use standardized procedures, but lack greater adherence to PRISMA-ScR, prior registration, and digital technologies. Training in international guidelines, AI, and interactive visualizations are priorities to increase transparency, reproducibility, and clinical impact.

METHOD: ecological study. Overall incidence rates and rates by type of violence were calculated, and Poisson regression was performed to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the rate of violence against girls, adult women, and older adults. RESULTS: domestic violence was highly prevalent both before and after the pandemic, with an overall average rate of 235.32 cases per 100,000 population. However, a reduction was observed from 383.5 per 100,000 in the pre-pandemic period to 150.7 per 100,000 post-pandemic period. Life cycle data revealed that, despite the decline, sexual violence was most frequent among girls, and physical violence was most frequent among adult women. Among older women, abuse and financial abuse increased during the first year of the pandemic. Adult and older women had higher risks of violence - 6.35 and 3.7 times greater, respectively, compared to girls. CONCLUSION: domestic violence remains a serious public health concern. The reduction in cases during the pandemic likely reflects underreporting due to mobility restrictions.

Vaginal secretion samples were collected for molecular biology detection of chlamydia, gonorrhea, mycoplasma and trichomoniasis; a structured questionnaire was applied with sociodemographic, behavioral, obstetric and clinical data, and results of rapid tests (Human Immunodeficiency Virus, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C). Analysis was carried out using STATA 15.0 software. the prevalence rates found were: Chlamydia trachomatis (11.6%), Mycoplasma genitalium (9.6%), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (1.7%) and Trichomonas vaginalis (3.6%). Age under 25 (adjusted odds ratio=2.06), presence of symptoms (adjusted odds ratio=1.99), absence of a steady partner or up to one year of relationship (adjusted odds ratio=2.64) increased the chance of having at least one infection. this study describes the high global prevalence of curable sexually transmitted infections in pregnant women in Primary Health Care. Knowing the prevalence of these infections in pregnant women and the main determinants are essential for reorganizing prenatal care and reducing pregnancy, puerperal and fetal complications.

Working group with ten health care providers: eight nurses, one physician and one nursing technician. Activity flowchart and description built through process modeling. Potential risk analysis based on the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis method. four sub-processes identified for the indwelling urinary catheterization process. Process review-based proactive health care risk analysis showed 55 potential failure modes, 92 potential failure causes, and 40 potential failure effects. the method applied to review the indwelling urinary catheterization process in the hospital setting supported the proactive health care risk analysis; this issue should be further considered to contribute to the safety culture at the national level. Nurses are strategic in decision-making on health care risk management in said process, throughout catheter introduction, continuous use, and removal.

A grounded theory was applied in the first phase. The participants were 12 mothers and 4 fathers. A randomized pilot study was implemented in the second phase, with 14 mothers in each group. The main response variable was "care competency". The CUIDAR Ma-Pre scale was applied in the baseline and follow-up measurements. four categories emerged: Facing premature births, Experiencing the prematurity routine in Neonatal Units, Self-empowerment to care for premature newborns, and Caring for premature newborns at home. Self-empowerment to care for premature newborns was the central category. These results were integrated into the intervention design. Differences in favor of the intervention were found in the assessment. Although these differences were not statistically significant between the groups, it were in fact so intra-group (Control n=13 baseline 82.15; at discharge 117.08 p=0.000 vs Intervention n=14 baseline 80.71; at discharge 121.14 p=0.000). empowerment was essential in the experience; an intervention with this approach is relevant, and its preliminary assessment suggests that it can improve care competency. It is pertinent to conduct a study at a larger scale. ClinicalTrials.gov. Identifier: NCT05005988.

Sociodemographic, clinical and tumor-related data were collected, in addition to laboratory and electrocardiographic tests performed before the first chemotherapy infusion. Descriptive analyses were carried out in the Rsoftware. the participants were 84 patients, mostly women (72.6%) with breast cancer diagnoses(57.1%). Prevalence of systemic inflammation was verified, with high C-reactive protein in 35.7% and increased neutrophil-lymphocyte and platelet-lymphocyte ratios in 23.5% and 27.2%, respectively. A significant association was observed between high Body Mass Index and T-wave alterations (p=0.005). Although 10 patients presented prolonged corrected QT intervals, no other statistically significant associations were identified. the pre-chemotherapy phase revealed relevant inflammatory and electrocardiographic alterations, even in the absence of installed cardiotoxicity. The findings reinforce the importance of baseline cardiovascular evaluations and of multi-professional follow-up in Cardio-Oncology, especially for patients with modifiable risk factors. Longitudinal studies are recommended to elucidate the clinical and prognostic evolution of these alterations.

Qualitative data from interviews with 46 professionals underwent reflective thematic analysis. Quantitative data were obtained from 170 professionals using the Ethical Climate Inventory. Exploratory factor analysis tested the Ethical Climate Inventory model, proposing a new configuration for the items, with greater explanatory power than that maintained in the confirmatory factor analysis. Data integration was independent and presented in a joint display. items with the highest factor loadings of the four factors of the Ethical Climate Inventory (1. principles and rules, 2. benevolence, 3. independence/individualism, and 4. sense of community/social responsibility) were analyzed in conjunction with the qualitative category, with multiple expressions of subjectivity and ethics in the workplace. No divergences were observed between the data, only convergences and complementarity in analytical syntheses by factor. data integration broadened the understanding of the ethical climate in a little-explored scenario, demonstrating the distinction of this reality in terms of the constructs analyzed and the strength of ethical elements as a conceptual and analytical tool for workplace environments.

Data were collected through an electronic form that contained sociodemographic, academic, and health information, including a history of mental disorders. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed using logistic regression through R software. the study found that 38% of participants extended their courses and 4.8% withdrew from enrollment. Extension was associated with pursuing a doctorate, studying Engineering or Biological Sciences, reporting training difficulties, and presenting mental health problems. Participation in remote classes and a previous diagnosis of hypertension emerged as protective factors. Withdrawal was associated with having children, studying Engineering, facing pandemic difficulties, presenting mental health problems, and having a history of academic leave. Being a scholarship holder was a protective factor, reducing the chances of withdrawal by 50%. the findings indicate that extensions and withdrawals are related to academic, personal and health factors, highlighting the need for institutional policies that promote comprehensive support, with special attention to mental health and retention in graduate programs.

Four stages were carried out: development of fictitious clinical cases as a basis for the serious game; evaluation of clinical cases by eight experts intentionally selected for participating in the Protection Network; development of the serious game by an interdisciplinary team; and evaluation of satisfaction with playing the game, using the e-GameFlow scale, with the participation of 33 nurses and 15 physicians. seventeen clinical cases were developed, representing different types of violence. "Take Care" was developed as a simulation using Unity® software, set in a virtual doctor's office. The game's evaluation achieved a Cronbach's alpha of 0.970. The areas of greatest satisfaction were: improvement in knowledge, concentration, and clarity of objectives. All participants said they would play again, 91% felt safe, 89% would not give up, and 70% finished without reporting the violence. "Take Care" was evaluated positively. It is suggested that it be used for continuing education, as an aid in identifying and reporting situations of violence.

Data were collected through individual interviews and medical record reviews. Self-care was evaluated using the Self-Care of Heart Failure Index, while fatigue was measured using the Fatigue Pictogram, both of which had been previously validated for use in Brazil. Scores of 70 or higher indicated adequate self-care in the domains of Management, Maintenance and Confidence. most participants were men (n = 73; 55.3%), had a low educational level (n = 98; 74.2%), lived with a spouse and/or children (n = 77; 58.4%) and had a mean age of 62.3 years (standard deviation = 28.7). Inadequate self-care for heart failure was observed in the Maintenance (n = 109; 82.6%), Management (n = 81; 61.8%) and Confidence (n = 57; 48.3%) subscales. In the week before hospitalization, participants reported experiencing fatigue-related exhaustion and limitations. No statistically significant association was found between fatigue intensity or impact and the self-care subscales. during the pandemic, although fatigue was prevalent among participants before hospitalization due to clinical decompensation of heart failure, it was not associated with self-care for the condition.

Study selection was conducted by two independent, blinded reviewers. Data were extracted using a standardized instrument and analyzed descriptively. nineteen studies were included, indicating that pain affects individuals across all age groups, with higher prevalence among women, primarily involving the head, neck, shoulder, lower back, and hip. Pain frequency ranged from daily to monthly episodes, with duration exceeding one year in some cases. Intensity varied from mild to severe, and pain characteristics were diverse, with descriptors including burning, pressure, colicky, and throbbing pain. the clinical characteristics and patterns of pain manifestation in Long COVID are diverse. However, there is a paucity of studies providing detailed analyses of pain features and the influence of individual variables. These findings should guide future research and clinical practice toward a more comprehensive and contextualized assessment of pain in Long COVID.
